About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable network infrastructure for residential and small business FTTH services
  • Develop and deploy configurations for routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and other core network equipment
  • Collaborate with OSP, Field Operations, and NOC teams on network readiness, capacity planning, and service delivery
  • Evaluate and integrate technologies and architectures to improve network performance and cost efficiency
  • Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot and resolve network issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews for critical network events
  • Maintain technical documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Oversee automation efforts to streamline network management and improve response times
  • Implement and enforce network security measures including access control, authentication, and traffic segmentation
  • Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal data integrity and network security standards
  • Mentor network engineering and NOC teams and support junior engineer and technician development
  • Provide input into strategic network planning and long-term technology roadmaps
  • Manage vendor and consultant escalations and optimize vendor support relationships
  • Identify and test improvements in network design, automation, observability, performance, and operational processes
  • Contribute to initiatives supporting scalability, cost efficiency, and customer experience

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer, Network Administrator, or similar role in a service provider or broadband environment
  • Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and other core routing and switching protocols
  • Experience with network operating systems such as JUNOS and Cisco IOS
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as LibreNMS network tools
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and access control frameworks
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a standard background check
  • At least 2 professional references are required
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday with night or weekend availability as needed
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
  • Ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods using a computer and office equipment
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as typing or using a mouse for extended periods
