About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage a team responsible for overall delivery of multiple large construction projects across the U.S.
Recruiting, oversight and management of project managers, construction managers, inspectors and project coordinators.
Identification, bid management & contract negotiation with environmental, OSP engineering, and OSP construction vendors.
Project management of multiple projects including establishing project schedules, maintaining project budgets, running regular project calls.
Oversight of environmental, OSP engineering/construction firms, project reporting and rapid resolution of project roadblocks.
Regular customer communications (written and oral), anticipating high stakes conversations and developing get-well plans when needed.
Validation and approval of vendor invoices.
Serve as an escalation point for both internal and external stakeholders
Be the technical OSP expert on behalf of Vero with thorough understanding of construction methods, complex permitting and fiber splicing and testing.
Support build cost estimates and delivery timelines for the sales team.

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years’ experience in project management related to outside plant construction
Highly developed written and verbal communications skills for detailed customer interactions and executive reporting
Thorough understanding of utility engineering, permitting and construction process
Strong planning skills and ability to develop detailed project schedules and manage work activities to ensure timely completion and mitigate project risks
Development, management, and demonstrated command and control of large capital budgets
Thorough understanding of fiber network cost structure and ability to identify and achieve costs savings
Understanding of fiber engineering and documentation standards and principles
Strong background in Google Suite (Sheets, etc.), Google Maps, Google Earth, Smartsheet
