About the role
- Build and lead the editorial team for the new Background Security & Defense vertical in cooperation with Handelsblatt
- Develop and implement a clear editorial and strategic direction for a paid vertical in close collaboration with the Tagesspiegel and Handelsblatt editorial leadership
- Develop user-focused, cross-media formats (text, audio, video, live) for a discerning professional audience
- Make bold and clear decisions in a dynamic environment
- Foster a positive, creative, and team-oriented working culture
- Work closely with editorial leadership as well as product, sales, and marketing teams
Requirements
- Several years of experience in editorial leadership and team management
- Deep knowledge of the defense industry, the political implications of the new geopolitical landscape, and their effects on the economy and industry
- Strong strategic skills and a digital mindset
- Confidence in handling complex topics and a passion for in-depth, analytical reporting ("Deep Journalism")
- Willingness to explore new approaches in journalism and to work across media
