About the role

  • Build and lead the editorial team for the new Background Security & Defense vertical in cooperation with Handelsblatt
  • Develop and implement a clear editorial and strategic direction for a paid vertical in close collaboration with the Tagesspiegel and Handelsblatt editorial leadership
  • Develop user-focused, cross-media formats (text, audio, video, live) for a discerning professional audience
  • Make bold and clear decisions in a dynamic environment
  • Foster a positive, creative, and team-oriented working culture
  • Work closely with editorial leadership as well as product, sales, and marketing teams

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in editorial leadership and team management
  • Deep knowledge of the defense industry, the political implications of the new geopolitical landscape, and their effects on the economy and industry
  • Strong strategic skills and a digital mindset
  • Confidence in handling complex topics and a passion for in-depth, analytical reporting ("Deep Journalism")
  • Willingness to explore new approaches in journalism and to work across media
