About the role
- Writing and editing journalistic pieces on digital and AI policy with a focus on exclusive, in-depth reporting
- Conducting intensive research, including building an information network
- Coordinating and supporting guest contributors
- Implementing your own ideas to create varied and in-depth coverage
- Producing the briefing on digitalization and AI, published several times a week
- Analyzing and evaluating legislative and other regulatory developments
Requirements
- At least two years of journalistic or comparable professional experience
- Strong affinity for political and regulatory processes
- Prior experience with topics in German and European digital policy — for example e-government/digital public administration, digital infrastructure, data economy and data protection/privacy, AI regulation, innovation policy, or cybersecurity — is desirable but not required. We expect a genuine interest in these areas
- Proactive and independent working style; assertiveness combined with strong coordination and communication skills
- High quality standards, strong reliability, and resilience under pressure
- Willingness to work evenings and to take on Sunday shifts (approximately every two months)
