About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage internal and external partners and vendors overseeing OSP/ISP construction and maintenance of network extension projects
  • Deliver fiber to new and existing customers through complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Manage engineering and construction activities for OSP network expansion and maintenance projects
  • Lead engineering efforts across multiple projects and use vendor resources to meet deliverables
  • Coordinate activities with contractors, developers, municipalities, and consultants
  • Propose engineering and operational productivity solutions
  • Analyze schedule changes and take corrective actions to keep projects on track
  • Assess network infrastructure vulnerabilities and make reliability decisions within financial constraints
  • Prepare cost analyses, project specifications, spend forecasts, route maps, requisitions, and business justifications
  • Process reports, vendor invoices, material receipts, and administrative work
  • Conduct field meetings, inspect construction progress, and perform final-product quality control
  • Communicate project status and progress to team members and customers
  • Respond to network outages and coordinate resources for prompt restoration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of relevant work experience
  • Three or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience
  • Experience with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Meet
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of outside plant engineering practices
  • Ability to analyze problems and select and implement appropriate solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical, science, or mathematics fields preferred as an “even better” qualification
  • Experience with CAD, 3GIS, ARCGIS, Google Earth, or other mapping and drafting software preferred
  • Experience with corporate data and reporting platforms such as Tableau or Cheetah preferred
