About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary internal AI Subject Matter Expert to inform, architect, and steward the AI skilling program strategy.
  • Conduct assessments to identify AI fluency and application training needs for target communities.
  • Curate, vet, and validate tailored educational programs and external partner curricula.
  • Ensure pedagogical rigor and relevance for non-technical workforces and target communities.
  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure accurate, high-quality delivery of AI skilling content and programs.
  • Analyze performance and progress toward defined goals and success measures, recommending changes as appropriate.
  • Synthesize complex data and integrate AI workforce readiness and equity principles into internal functions, stakeholder discussions, and the Responsible Business agenda.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence to define KPIs and learning metrics measuring the societal and economic impact of AI upskilling.
  • Monitor the developing field, identify emerging gaps, synthesize information, and disseminate recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Identify external engagements and partnerships for thought leadership and represent Verizon where appropriate.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training
  • Experience designing and implementing complex workforce development or social impact strategies
  • Deep subject matter expertise in AI concepts, tools, and current AI training trends
  • Proven experience in corporate training, adult learning, or educational curriculum development
  • Expertise in workforce automation and digital skilling
  • Understanding of technical skills gaps between displaced workers and high-demand AI-adjacent roles
  • Experience with job training programs, community colleges, K-12 systems, or small business development, especially programs serving vulnerable socioeconomic groups
  • Ability to manage educational rollouts across multiple phases, pilot timelines, and strategic markets
  • Ability to synthesize complex, emergent trends into actionable corporate advice
  • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional programs from an advisory and content-validation perspective
  • Ability to engage, influence, and advise senior leaders and external community stakeholders
