About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead paid search from strategic planning, investment, and partner management perspectives
  • Help lead Verizon’s recently in-housed paid search function
  • Partner with leaders within the digital marketing center of excellence
  • Recommend and support necessary changes to evolve the in-house SEM operation
  • Build relationships with external search partners, including emerging partners and optimization technologies
  • Lead and manage SEM functions for multiple Verizon business units
  • Develop campaigns, bid strategies, optimization plans, and channel management processes
  • Scale teams to support the SEM operation
  • Recommend and drive decisions regarding changes to existing technology stacks
  • Manage relationships with external search partners
  • Oversee execution and resources for SEM campaigns
  • Develop and deploy an AI strategy connecting consumers to commerce outcomes
  • Lead, plan, develop, and execute digital marketing campaigns across online advertising, website strategy/design, social media, mobile, and new media
  • Evaluate digital marketing campaign performance and research campaign features to advance Verizon’s digital presence
  • Collaborate across the organization and with internal and external partners to ensure a consistent brand experience

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training
  • Marketer, agency, or consultative services experience in SEM
  • Experience leading a technically advanced team of search marketing professionals
  • Experience with primary buying platforms and formats, including Google Ads, Search Ads 360, Skai, Yahoo!/Bing, PLAs, and shopping engines
  • Ability to manage projects across multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Experience in search analysis and reporting
  • Data visualization experience
  • Fluency in data-driven targeting and reach strategy
  • Knowledge of advertising channels including TV, audio, OOH, display, digital video, and social media
  • Knowledge of buying methodologies including CPM, CPC, and CPA
  • Exposure to online report builders such as Adobe/Omniture and ability to build and pull reports
  • Openness to exploring new search strategy methods as consumer behavior adapts
