About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- manage a variety of internal and external partners and vendors to oversee OSP/ISP construction and maintenance of network extension projects
- ensure that these multi-stakeholder, complex projects are delivered on time, to specifications, and within budget
- manage all engineering and construction activities of assigned projects associated with expanding and maintaining the OSP network infrastructure
- lead engineering efforts on multiple projects, driving productivity through use of vendor resources to meet deliverables
- engage appropriate internal and external organizations and individuals with good written/verbal communications to accomplish required tasks with focus on quality and speed to market
- coordinate project activities with contractors, developers, municipalities and consultants
- propose solutions supported by sound engineering and operational productivity to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
- analyze implications of changes from the original schedule and take required corrective actions to ensure the project stays on track
- recognize vulnerabilities in network infrastructure and make intelligent decisions to ensure reliability within financial constraints
- prepare detailed cost analysis, project specifications, spend forecasts, route mapping, requisitions, and business justifications
- process reports, vendor invoices, material receipts, and other administrative duties
- perform field meetings, inspection of construction in progress, and quality control of final product to ensure company requirements are met
- communicate project status and progress to team members and customers
- respond immediately to network outages, coordinating necessary resources and activities for prompt and appropriate restoral
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience
- Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time
- Valid Driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields (even better)
- Experience in CAD, 3GIS, ARCGIS, Google Earth or other mapping and drafting software (even better)
- Experience in using Google Workspace suite, including tools such as Drive, Gmail, Meet, Docs, Sheets, and Slides (even better)
- Experience in corporate data and reporting platforms (Tableau, Cheetah, or others) (even better)
