About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations; this involves engaging both internal and external stakeholders, at times utilizing a dotted-line leadership approach
  • Automating and continuously improving Infrastructure and Cloud Security Governance reporting dashboards, scorecards and maturity models used to quantify and reduce cyber risks through actionable frameworks; this includes working with our Verizon India team to execute
  • Supporting the designing of GTS On-Prem Network, Data centers and Cloud environments; along with GTS enterprise network and zero trust alignment
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify gaps and process improvements in order to enhance security protections and improve cybersecurity maturity; this includes utilizing automation tools to measure program effectiveness
  • Providing security awareness, training & compliance programs focused on Network Cybersecurity practices; this will require leveraging the Mavens program, a team of security professionals who facilitate adoption of Security by Design
  • Partnering with our Verizon Cybersecurity teams; to include participating in Active Defense and Incident Response, Penetration Testing, Red team and Threat Hunt campaigns, as well as Tabletop Exercises when necessary
  • Producing executive-level operational read-outs, metrics, and project statuses that accurately capture the effectiveness of our team’s mission
  • Executing long-term and short-term strategic goals and ensuring proper updates are socialized to appropriate stakeholders; this requires cross-functional collaboration and relationship building to also achieve wider, organizational strategic goals
  • Motivating, mentoring, and advising network & infrastructure analysts and engineers on how to build and maintain skills and techniques needed to produce quality work products. This includes hosting focused training sessions to teach new and specialized skill sets
  • Promoting an environment of collaboration and individual accountability when it comes to problem-solving, decision-making, and process improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Three or more years of experience in Information Security, Network Technology or Technical Risk Analysis
  • Three or more years of experience with scripting and programming for automation of data parsing, API interactions, and custom tool development.
  • Knowledge and experience in analyzing large datasets (e.g., netflow, firewall, DNS, Proxy, VPN logs) to identify anomalies and perform in-depth analytics.
  • Experience with data analytical tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, or Hadoop
  • Experience in creating, modifying, and executing Ansible playbooks for automation, configuration management, and orchestration of security deployments across diverse network devices and servers.
  • Understanding on how to develop and configure dashboards and visualizations with tools like Grafana.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity, network defense, and investigative frameworks (such as NIST CSF, ISO 27000 series, MITRE ATT&CK, Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain, etc.) into network defense processes
  • High-level understanding of Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure, OCI) and Operating Systems (Windows, Unix/Linux, and OSX)
  • Certifications like: CCNA, Network+, Security+, CISSP
