About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design of architectures for new products, digital platforms and the modernization of legacy systems.
- Translate business needs into scalable, secure, resilient and sustainable technical solutions.
- Model systems and architectures using the C4 Model, covering context, containers, components and, when necessary, code-level details.
- Define architectural standards for microservices, integrations, APIs, messaging and system-to-system communication.
- Design cloud-native solutions considering high availability, elasticity, security, observability and cost optimization.
- Support the evolution of distributed, event-driven and reactive system architectures.
- Act as a bridge between business areas, Product and development teams, ensuring alignment between strategy, architecture and implementation.
- Guide engineering teams in adopting technical best practices and architectural patterns.
- Support decisions related to technologies, frameworks, platforms, integrations and cloud services.
- Assess technical impacts, risks, dependencies, trade-offs and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in technical discussions, refinements, solution discovery and initiative planning.
- Support the governance of APIs, integrations, microservices and security standards.
- Contribute to observability strategies, monitoring, logging, metrics and distributed tracing.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, Software Architect, Tech Lead or similar role.
- Experience designing distributed architectures and microservices-based ecosystems.
- Advanced knowledge of architectural patterns, system integration and application modernization.
- Experience addressing eventual consistency, resilience, concurrency, scalability and fault-tolerance challenges.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, messaging and Pub/Sub patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar streaming and messaging technologies.
- Knowledge of reactive systems principles and resilient architectures.
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, including concepts such as clusters, pods, services, ingress, networking, scalability and workload management.
- Experience with containers and cloud-native architectures.
- Knowledge of the API lifecycle, including design, versioning, security, publishing, monitoring and governance.
- Experience with REST APIs, gRPC and/or GraphQL.
- Experience with API Gateway or API Management tools such as Kong, Apigee, WSO2 or similar.
- Practical knowledge of security applied to architecture, including IAM, authentication, authorization and access segregation.
- Experience with protocols and standards such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT and mTLS.
- Experience designing observability strategies based on metrics, logs and distributed tracing.
- Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, Datadog or similar.
- Relevant hands-on backend development experience, with experience deploying applications to production.
- Experience with languages such as Java, Go, C#, Python or similar.
- Ability to produce technical documentation, architectural diagrams and decision records.
- Good communication skills, systems thinking, critical thinking and the ability to make technical decisions.
