About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze insurance data and support data management activities
  • Interpret regulatory reporting requirements and perform business analysis for client reporting implementations
  • Support external partners’ reporting responsibilities
  • Prepare data reviews, regulatory filings, and compilations for submission to state insurance departments and ISO affiliates
  • Research and implement data capture mechanisms and strategies
  • Participate in regulatory reporting implementation and onboarding of new clients
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders regarding regulatory data reporting requirements and data management activities
  • Create and modify instructions to extract, transform, and summarize insurance regulatory data
  • Recommend improvements in data management, error identification, quality control, and process automation
  • Provide input for data reporting implementations while working with the development team
  • Support reporting requirement interpretation, regulatory reporting implementation, statistical plan mapping, data reconciliation, regulatory validation, and bureau submission preparation
  • Collaborate with other divisions using information from multiple sources, independent analysis, and research
  • Prioritize business needs and make decisions across multiple projects
  • Develop clear and concise data reporting standards and instructions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of Property & Casualty insurance experience, including regulatory reporting, statistical reporting, bureau reporting, insurance operations, policy administration, claims operations, underwriting operations, or related insurance data management functions
  • Experience working with P&C insurance industry reporting organizations such as ISO/Verisk, TICO, CAR, state insurance departments, residual markets, statistical agents, or other regulatory reporting entities is strongly preferred
  • Practical experience interpreting, mapping, validating, implementing or supporting insurance statistical reporting requirements is strongly preferred
  • Experience working directly with insurance carriers, business stakeholders, regulatory reporting teams, or external clients during implementation and onboarding initiatives
  • Ability to analyze insurance policy, premium, exposure and claims data and translate business reporting requirements into actionable reporting specifications
  • Solid background in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adjust plans amid changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field
  • Experience with data manipulation, transactional-level data generation, data transformations, cleansing and validation scripts is a plus
  • Experience conducting client meetings, gathering business requirements, presenting reporting solutions, and supporting implementation activities with insurance carriers is strongly preferred
  • Experience using SQL or other data interrogation tools is helpful
  • Professional insurance designations such as CPCU, AINS, IDMA, or similar credentials are a plus
