About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Automate, deploy, and maintain infrastructure using Ansible and similar tools
- Build, implement, and support tools and services that maintain infrastructure and service reliability
- Work with AWS-native, open-source, third-party, and custom solutions
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate tasks and consistently deploy infrastructure and applications
- Write code and scripts and contribute to shared codebases
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in development, test, and production environments
- Support compute and storage needs for High Performance Compute environments on premises and in the cloud
- Participate in planned maintenance, unplanned outages, and incidents
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience working as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar
- Conceptual knowledge and understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) frameworks
- Expert knowledge of Linux operating system fundamentals, including multiple distributions, building software from source, and network-attached filesystems
- Expert knowledge of one or more programming and scripting languages; Shell scripting and Python preferred
- Expert knowledge of on-premises and cloud-native infrastructures
- Expert knowledge of navigating a TCP/IP-based environment
- Security-first mindset
- Good written communication skills
- Experience in a VMware environment is a plus
- Experience with HPC systems such as Grid Engine or Slurm is a plus
