About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Effectively lead a team of software developers/analysts in the requirements, design, development, test, and deployment of large distributed systems using microservices-based architecture.
Engage and lead a globally distributed team, and provide hands-on management, mentoring, and coaching of resources and drive annual goals.
People management duties, including hiring, firing, performance reviews, job requirements, interviewing candidates, staffing needs, assignments to team, review of work, growth opportunity for staff, in-person/remote supervision, etc.
Effectively communicate software solution expectations to internal customers, team members and other stakeholders.
Propose, design and implement scalable, sustainable and cost-effective solutions meeting internal and external customers’ objectives.
Engage with senior management, peers and internal customers to plan and prioritize projects and resource allocation.
Proactively communicate statuses, issues and escalations to senior management and stakeholders.
Work with external vendors to source, negotiate and manage contract resources and solution services.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid software development experience, including experience leading engineering teams and delivering enterprise applications.
Strong technical background in software architecture, application design, and cloud-native development.
Hands-on experience with modern technologies, including .NET/C#, JavaScript, Python, REST APIs, microservices, SQL Server, Snowflake, and search technologies (OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or Solr).
Experience building and operating applications in AWS or other cloud environments.
Understanding of AI/ML technologies, including LLMs, Generative AI, and AI-powered application development; familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases, and AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) is a plus.
Proven ability to lead Agile software delivery, balancing technical excellence, business priorities, and customer needs.
Experience driving architecture, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams and influence technical direction across engineering and business partners.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at both technical and executive levels.
