About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the full model product lifecycle, from early scoping and science translation through launch and client adoption.
  • Define and champion the multi-year model product strategy.
  • Own the business case for new model investments.
  • Partner with research and science teams to translate cutting-edge research into well-scoped, market-ready product requirements.
  • Engage directly with clients throughout the model lifecycle to understand their technical and business requirements.
  • Conduct rigorous competitive analysis and maintain market positioning frameworks.
  • Coordinate model launches and lead go-to-market strategies.
  • Serve as a visible expert voice for Verisk in catastrophe risk management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of direct professional experience with catastrophe models, gained on the carrier, broker, reinsurer, or vendor side.
  • Deep understanding of how catastrophe model outputs are consumed and operationalized within insurance and reinsurance workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical subjects into clear business narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with confidence to engage C-suite clients and internal executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Advanced degree or credential in a scientific, engineering, or quantitative discipline relevant to catastrophe modeling.
  • Experience spanning both the model-development side (vendor or research) and the model-consumption side (carrier, broker, or reinsurer), providing a dual perspective on product-market fit.
  • Industry relationships and/or recognized presence (publications, speaking engagements) in the catastrophe risk community.
