About the role

  • Build and operate our Databricks-based Data & AI platform in the Microsoft Azure cloud
  • Design and implement CI/CD processes (GitLab) as well as Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
  • Take responsibility for the platform’s performance, availability, security and cost control in day-to-day operations
  • Evaluate new technologies and integrate suitable tools, frameworks and services into our platform architecture
  • Work closely with our data scientists, data analysts, data engineers and BI developers
  • Implement and operate scalable data pipelines (Python, SQL, Spark, Asset Bundles, etc.)
  • Actively contribute to architecture decisions, technology reviews and the engineering governance setup of the factory

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, a natural science or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience building and operating cloud-native platforms in the Data & AI domain
  • Long-standing passion for and hands-on experience building and operating Data & AI platforms (especially Databricks) on a cloud provider (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Solid knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps best practices
  • Extensive experience with Python, SQL, Spark, etc., with a clear focus on Data Engineering
  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
