About the role
- Manage the Water Quality Platform’s new ventures funnel, ensuring accurate tracking, prioritization, and continuous advancement of high-potential opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive startup database with insights on maturity, funding history, IP, team, and relevance to WQP needs.
- Lead the preparation of strategic materials for periodic Minority Investment Funnel Reviews, synthesizing market signals and internal analyses into clear recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with startups, venture funds (including those where Veralto is an LP), accelerators, and other innovation partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with platform and operating company leaders to ensure venture opportunities align with the WANT list of prioritized customer problems.
- Apply the Veralto Enterprise System (VES) to drive standard work and efficient execution in external innovation workflows.
- Monitor industry and adjacent market trends to identify emerging technologies and companies with disruptive potential.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field.
- Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, innovation, business development, or technical leadership, preferably in industrial or technology-driven markets.
- Exceptional ability to build trust and strong relationships across all organizational levels, from operating company leaders to technical teams.
- Demonstrated success mobilizing stakeholders around innovation initiatives in a matrixed environment.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to translate complex opportunities into prioritized, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, adaptable for technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
- High level of self-direction, ownership, and comfort navigating ambiguity.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and the startup ecosystem, or a demonstrated ability to learn and engage rapidly.
- Experience with pipeline management, opportunity assessment, and executive review processes.
- Preferred Exposure to external innovation ecosystems, especially in water, sustainability, or industrial technology sectors.
- Experience working with global or distributed teams.
