About the role
- Govern global finance policies and procedures, ensuring consistency, clarity, and adherence across all sites and acquired entities.
- Provide oversight of the global financial control environment, ensuring effective design, documentation, and adherence to internal controls across all regions.
- Partner closely with IT to ensure effective financial system controls, including IT general controls “ITGC”s (access management, change management, cybersecurity), segregation of duties, and quarterly user access reviews.
- Develop and implement compliance frameworks for financial operations, including SOX, tax, and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Partner with the Global Controller to align compliance oversight with execution of financial operations across all regions
- Integrate compliance programs for newly acquired companies, ensuring smooth transition and adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and audit financial processes to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Lead risk assessments and design mitigation strategies to prevent violations and financial mismanagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, HR, operations) to integrate compliance into daily business practices.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues, reporting findings to senior leadership and recommending corrective actions.
- Train and mentor staff on compliance policies, ethical standards, and regulatory updates.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to executive management
Requirements
- Bachelor of Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated advancement
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations (SOX, GAAP, IFRS, AML, GDPR)
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing compliance teams
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with regulators and executives
