Principal Database Engineer – Platform Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Owns architecture, implementation, reliability, and lifecycle management of Veradigm’s database platform
- Designs new database systems end-to-end
- Owns 24×7 production reliability as final escalation point for major outages
- Acts as senior technical authority and subject matter expert across multiple database technologies
- Designs and implements multi-cloud database infrastructure
- Authors and reviews database infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Oversees the security, integrity, and performance of databases across the production estate
- Implements monitoring, observability, and alerting across all database systems
- Leads complex performance triage and 911 response across product engineering teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 10+ years relevant work experience
- 2-3 years at the Expert level or equivalent experience (Preferred)
- ITIL Foundations Certification (Preferred)
- MTA Database Fundamentals Certification (Preferred)
- MCSA Database Administrator Certification (Preferred)
- Azure Fundamentals Certification (Preferred)
- Azure Data Fundamentals Certification (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate (Preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
