About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise on the design, implementation, administration, and governance of employee compensation, health and welfare, and retirement benefit plans
  • Provide legal support on executive and director compensation programs
  • Advise on 401(k) and welfare plan governance, fiduciary oversight, and related ERISA matters
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other applicable laws and regulations
  • Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments affecting compensation and benefits programs
  • Support M&A activity in close collaboration with Human Resources
  • Provide legal advice on compensation-related disclosure and corporate governance matters
  • Support Section 16 compliance
  • Advise on insider trading compliance
  • Assist with Nasdaq listing standards and corporate governance requirements
  • Advise on executive and equity compensation aspects of M&A activity
  • Supervise a paralegal supporting subsidiary management
  • Partner closely with Finance, Human Resources, payroll, tax, treasury, and accounting on global equity incentive plans

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor degree and in good standing to practice law in the applicable state
  • 8 years of relevant experience and education, including with a top-tier law firm
  • Sound legal and business judgment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented
  • Proactive problem-solver
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
