About the role
- Reporting to the Director of Content, the Digital Marketing Strategist (Remote or Hybrid) works closely with SEO Specialists, Copywriters, Designers, Product Marketing Managers, and other teammates.
Act as strategist, consultant/coach, and hands-on implementer.
Troubleshoot website traffic issues, analyze data, and identify actionable insights.
Support struggling products/sites with stronger strategies; provide cross-functional digital marketing, SEO, and data/tracking expertise.
Develop data solutions, oversee tag management, ensure tracking tools are implemented correctly, and create dashboards and reporting solutions.
Identify and resolve technical SEO issues; monitor GSC, Ahrefs, Semrush; audit structured data, metadata, and schema.
Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to improve SEO results across teams.
Develop reports and dashboards; translate complex data into actionable insights; manage third-party performance/data tools.
Act as internal consultant for SEO, Content, Dev, PR, and PMMs; optimize off-site marketing; audit competitor sites and backlink quality.
Support website migrations, redesigns, and product launches; run tests/experiments; maintain competitor knowledge library.
Attend annual Marketing Department offsite and perform additional tasks as requested.
Requirements
- 5+ years SEO and/or digital marketing experience (hands-on + strategy).
Strong ability to connect data sources, automate reporting, and analyze insights.
Deep knowledge of SEO, content optimization, and digital marketing trends.
Experience creating SOPs and best practice frameworks.
Proven ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
Proficiency in SEO and analytics tools: Ahrefs, Semrush, MOZ, GA4, GSC, Looker Studio, Screaming Frog, etc.
Experience with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to scale strategies.
Strong technical SEO knowledge (core web vitals, site errors, server issues, RegEx, schema, etc.).
Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
Deep understanding of digital marketing tactics, SEO, and content marketing.
Ability to quickly pivot strategies to align with SEO landscape changes.
Strong A/B testing and optimization skills.
Ability to tie metrics to SMART business goals and meaningful KPIs.
Business case and project management skills (from approval to execution).
Proficiency in WordPress, HTML, CSS, Schema/JSON, APIs (basic knowledge of Python, JavaScript, SQL).
Strong ability to spot patterns, troubleshoot, and escalate issues proactively.
