About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Director of Production Control & Logistics is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations across multiple regions.
- This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods globally.
- Develop and implement global logistics strategies aligned with corporate objectives and automotive industry standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, minimize carbon footprint and improve service levels.
- Collaborate closely with regional teams to develop and execute cost-optimized transportation strategies for both standard and premium freight
- Lead Implementation of OneStream based Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) processes to balance demand, capacity, and inventory for on-time in-full (OTIF) delivery.
- Optimize material planning using ERP systems to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Standardize Logistics processes and methods in Veoneer plants. Establishing 3PL solutions, as appropriate.
- Define and manage process and governance for Last Time Buys to minimize risks and carrying costs to Veoneer
- Align global logistics strategies with corporate carbon neutrality goals and ESG commitments.
- Implement supply chain resiliency plans in anticipation of unexpected geo-political events.
- Provide global leadership for material sourcing and allocation during periods of constrained supply.
- Develop and drive supply chain resiliency plans.
- Develop key Logistics competencies to support EMS Opportunities with new customers including BOM & AVL Management, EDI Onboarding and establishing inventory best practices for a variety of industries/customers.
- Help establish and review Logistics KPIs and cost controls across global operations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years in global supply chain/logistics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within automotive manufacturing
- Expertise in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and automotive logistics
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced logistics technologies
- JDE, QAD and/or Movex experience is a plus
- Experience in OneStream SIOP
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work remotely and on-site across times zones with plants in Americas, Europe and Asia.
- Regular International Travel will be required (6-8 times/year)
