About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the daily schedule, delivery, and reporting of the environmental monitoring programme for three Energy Recovery Facilities in Hampshire
- Ensure sampling and monitoring comply with Environmental Permit requirements
- Communicate with the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, and Water Companies to maintain compliance
- Produce KPIs, monitor trends, and generate summary reports tracking facility SHEQ performance
- Liaise with and manage third-party contractors delivering environmental monitoring
- Coordinate daily with operational staff to maintain monitoring infrastructure and resolve compliance issues
- Advise Facility Managers on environmental legislation
- Conduct contractor audits
- Coordinate annual reporting across Energy Recovery Facilities
- Stay current with legislation to support compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree level in a scientific discipline
- Broad knowledge of waste management
- Extensive knowledge of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs), including their principles and processes
- Problem-solving knowledge
- Wide knowledge of waste legislation
- Knowledge and understanding of the Environment Agency (EA)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
