About the role

  • Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist (HRG) is an internal resource on employment matters, ensuring adherence to legislation, company policies, CBA's, and other matters related to staffing and performance.
  • Will manage day-to-day HR operations including full-cycle recruiting, assist with timekeeping and payroll coordination, employee relations, payroll investigations under guidance, total rewards programs, performance and talent management, employee practices and procedures.
  • The HRG will coordinate engagement initiatives and support employee recognition efforts.
  • Will administer and ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA and company leave policies.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to supervisors and employees on issues that affect performance and business relationships.
  • Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by leadership of Ventura Foods.
  • Support Department Managers and Supervisors in the execution of the HR people strategy to drive improve site efficiency and performance, with the goal of high engagement and low turnover.
  • Manage overall performance, management and people planning, and employee engagement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field required
  • 2 -4 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience in administering employee benefits & knowledge of payroll procedures.
  • Experience coordinating and administering employee training.
  • Experience with talent assessment & succession planning.
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
  • Experience in both union and non-union work environments is required
  • Experience in labor relations a bonus!
