About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Director, Learning & Development (L&D) is responsible for designing, leading, and executing the Operations learning strategy for a multi‑site manufacturing organization and oversees all training programs, systems, and capability-building initiatives across a multi-site manufacturing network.
  • This role is responsible for building and leading a high-performing L&D team responsible for compliance, program, and system training.
  • This role ensures that leaders, frontline supervisors, and hourly employees have the skills, capabilities, and development pathways needed to demonstrate strong leadership and drive operational excellence, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • The Director partners closely with Manufacturing VP's, Plant Leaders, HR Business Partners, Safety, Quality, Operations, and Corporate HR Centers of Excellence to build a high‑performance learning culture that supports business growth, talent readiness, and workforce capability.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree from accredited college or university with 10 years minimum experience working in an Operations capacity is preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of company's manufacturing process is required.
  • Management experience, including long and short-term planning and budgeting are required.
  • Proficient presentation and public speaking skills, organizational and motivational skills are necessary, as is the ability to work autonomously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Learning & Development, Education, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in L&D, OD, or HR, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial environment.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of L&D professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience owning training programs and learning systems (LMS, e-learning platforms), preferably in a manufacturing environment.
