About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide administrative support in managing daily scheduling of shipments, branch transfers and receiving
- Provide accurate and timely documentation as needed internally and externally to all departments
- Provide support to management as needed
- Provide guidance and routine direction to all shipping employees while communicating efficiently with other personnel and departments
- Cover for shipping supervisor in their absence
- Participate in the day-to-day activities required to meet the shipping goals by coordinating the staging or loading trucks on a day-to-day basis
- Complete all required paperwork, accurately and timely
- Schedule & coordinate on-the-job training for new employees, by providing orientation and information in correct procedures and techniques
- Schedule all appointments for prepaid and customer leads, working directly with carriers and drivers
- Follow all safety and security policies and procedures
- Responsible for following all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated Preventive Controls
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Experienced in a shipping/receiving traffic environment
- Computer literate, with experience with office software programs, such as Microsoft Office and AS400 computer system
- Proficient in 10-key operation, with excellent math skills
- Possess good communication skills, both written & verbal
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced office environment
- Should have good inter-personal skills and able to work with minimal supervision
