About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the network of strategic membrane partners, roofing sub-contractors and key decision makers across the geographic area
  • Manage projects from conception and surveying through installation
  • Maximise sales through customer and area management
  • Secure and win business by developing specified projects or conversions
  • Create demand and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Maintain CRM records for area contacts and projects
  • Develop and implement closing techniques, particularly for Main Contractor and Installer projects
  • Raise VELUX Commercial product awareness throughout the project lifecycle
  • Foster relationships with waterproofing membrane partners, roofing contractors and installers while managing the buying centre
  • Build relationships with trade, industry and regulatory bodies
  • Influence key decision makers to incorporate VELUX Commercial products into designs
  • Conduct site visits and surveys, including working at height and ladder use
  • Establish VELUX Commercial products as a clear choice in market share and market opinion
  • Work independently and collaboratively to achieve company strategy, targets and goals
  • Monitor market potential and manage sales leads from design handover through delivery and installation
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks related to the role

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience managing the sales process from lead generation through project completion
  • Territory sales experience
  • Strong networking skills and ability to generate and maintain business relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships at all levels
  • Highly organised, with excellent planning and time management skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Comfortable working at height and able to carry ladders and surveying equipment during site visits
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Experience in project sales desirable
  • Experience using CRM systems desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings desirable
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations, including Parts L and B, desirable
  • Technical product knowledge desirable
  • Experience within roof construction, façades, glazing, or related construction sectors desirable
  • Experience working on construction sites and conducting surveys at height desirable
  • Strong negotiation skills desirable
  • DBS check or previous experience working within schools or with vulnerable people desirable
