About the role

  • Drive the development and implementation of HSE strategies within the Business Area that align with organizational goals, business priorities and regulatory requirements, actively shaping and advancing a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen leadership engagement and embed safe behaviors at all levels of the organization
  • Establish and maintain an HSE reporting system that meets global requirements and ensures regular trend analysis and follow-up actions, thus actively contributing to the Business Area HSE Decision Network
  • Oversee the development and continuous improvement of HSE programs and procedures, ensuring they are practical, effective, and well adopted in daily operations.
  • Develop and coach HSE professionals by building capability, engagement, and a strong sense of ownership across the HSE community.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders, local HSE teams, and Global HSE to ensure alignment and consistency of HSE initiatives.
  • Establish and follow up on systems that verify compliance with global standards through regular site visits and audits.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an HSE leadership role within an international or matrix organization, managing or supporting HSE professionals and teams
  • Strong track record in developing and implementing HSE strategies, programs, reporting and management systems that drive cultural and behavioral change.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 safety management systems; knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated success in leading audits, compliance verifications, and continuous improvement initiatives within complex operational environments.
  • Effective communicator with clear and engaging reporting, presentation, and influencing skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align HSE initiatives with organizational goals and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HSE data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Fluent English communication skills – both spoken and written.
