About the role

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (product, marketing, operations, commerce, logistics) to analyze business challenges, define precise problem statements, and model them as tractable machine learning tasks (e.g., defining classification vs. ranking objectives, specifying metric targets).
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable machine learning pipelines, emphasizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative architectures.
  • Fine-tune custom LLMs for specific use cases for cost and performance optimizations.
  • Monitor AI systems performance in real time (latency, accuracy, drift) and establish automated retraining processes to maintain high quality, robustness, and fairness.
  • Partner with PMs, UX/UI designers and frontend/backend engineers to embed AI capabilities into Veepee’s Information System.

Requirements

  • Academic Background: Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics or Applied Mathematics.
  • Hands-On ML Experience: 3+ years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning models, with at least 1 year focused on deep learning and NLP.
  • Software Development Experience: 6+ years in software development/tech or SWE roles, demonstrating strong engineering practices, code quality, and collaboration.
  • Programming Skills: Strong Python skills, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn; experience with version control (Git), collaborative code reviews and containerization.
  • LLM Specialization: Hands-on experience with OpenAI GPT APIs (or competitors), Hugging Face Transformers, or Meta’s LLaMA models.
