About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under physician direction
Function under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving
Follow hospital, nursing, and unit policies and procedures
Seek supervisor approval or guidance for schedule changes, legal issues, care deviating from standards, and educational resources
Handle, transport, access, and/or make contact with medications and related supplies
Work assigned shifts, including days, weekends, and holidays
Adjust schedules, shift rotations, and hours as needed to meet clinic requirements
Serve patients across all age-specific groups

Requirements

What you’ll need

Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association required for hire and continued employment
AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if not a graduate of a medical assistant program
No work experience required if the individual is a graduate of a medical assistant program
Previous experience using a personal computer and software applications, including Microsoft and email
Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays
Ability to lift 20–50 lbs.
Ability to perform prolonged standing and sitting, frequent bending, walking, climbing, and overhead/extensive/repetitive reaching
Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, clear speech, legible writing, reading, and logical thinking
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to frequent change
