About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide coverage in their primary setting, but also as needed throughout the hospital/rehab/outpatient settings
  • Assume basic leadership roles within the department
  • Participate in department projects or events in an efficient and productive manner
  • Attend educational activities and provide in-service education to other staff
  • Develop the skills to provide student supervision with mentorship of an experienced student supervisor
  • Participate in research activities at the department level

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience
  • Previous clinical experience with evaluation/treatment of neurogenic, motor speech, linguistic/cognitive communication disorders and swallowing disorders
  • Previous experience performing swallow studies including MBS and bedside assessments
  • Previous experience planning and executing treatment
  • Masters Degree from an ASHA accredited program in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a SLP
  • Current CCC in SLP
