About the role

  • Develop and own VC3-wide AI, automation, and data strategy.
  • Establish governance frameworks for AI ethics, compliance (CMMC, CJIS, HIPAA), and data security.
  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to embed AI into core service lines and accelerate modernization.
  • Internal-facing - AI assistants that VC3 uses internally (to make our teams more efficient, strategic, and automated).
  • Drive automation and AI adoption across NOC, SOC, service desk, and back-office functions
  • Automate end-to-end workflows across the business areas to improve operational efficiency
  • Deploy Copilot AI assistants to begin, and Advanced LLM based Agents as we mature
  • Client-facing - AI assistants (MS Copilot initially) that are built by VC3 and delivered to clients as Offerings/services (tools they directly use in their business).
  • Develop sector-specific AI solutions, including: Municipal: AI solutions that enable the workforce to boost productivity, collaboration, and communication and for citizens for improved public services.
  • CMMC: Automated compliance evidence collection, continuous risk scoring.
  • Partner with sales and delivery teams to commercialize AI and data offerings.
  • Build AI adoption frameworks and maturity roadmaps for clients.
  • Engage directly with municipal leaders and compliance stakeholders through industry conferences, municipal events, and client forums to advocate for AI adoption and represent the MSP as a thought leader.
  • Design and implement a secure, scalable data architecture across the organization.
  • Establish enterprise-wide data quality, compliance, and accessibility standards.
  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and literacy.
  • Establish reporting standards across AI, automation, and data initiatives to ensure consistency, transparency, and executive visibility.
  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to gather reporting requirements and align metrics to business objectives.
  • Design and oversee the development of Power BI dashboards for internal leadership, board reporting, and client-facing insights.
  • Ensure reporting frameworks track adoption, efficiency gains, compliance readiness, and revenue growth tied to AI initiatives.
  • Forge strategic partnerships with AI/ML vendors, compliance specialists, and municipal leagues.
  • Monitor emerging trends in AI, automation, and data, ensuring VC3 remains well-positioned for the future.
  • Engage directly with municipal leaders, SMB owners, and compliance stakeholders through industry conferences, municipal events, and client forums to advocate for AI adoption and represent VC3 as a thought leader.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in AI, data, or automation roles, ideally within an MSP, IT services, or consulting.
  • Proven track record of building AI and data functions from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering compliance-ready, client-facing solutions in regulated sectors.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations, cybersecurity, and service delivery.
  • Experience with fine-tuning and customizing open-source LLMs
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and embeddings for enterprise search.
