About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze, structure, underwrite and fund CMHC-insured loans across multifamily, retirement, and student housing, including term, refinance, and construction transactions.
- Deliver high-quality financial models, credit analyses, and CMHC submissions that reflect Vault’s commitment to excellence.
- Liaise directly with borrowers, brokers, and third-party consultants — ensuring timely, professional communication throughout the deal cycle.
- Identify and resolve issues before they become problems, maintaining Vault’s reputation for reliability and execution.
- Support the build-out of internal systems, templates, and underwriting standards as Vault continues to grow.
- Collaborate closely with origination, credit, and servicing teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–3 years of experience underwriting CMHC-insured loans across various asset classes.
- Deep understanding of CMHC guidelines, underwriting methodology, and the funding process.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication — able to present information clearly to clients and internal teams.
- A service-first mindset: responsive, organized, and committed to delivering on promises.
- Self-motivated and accountable, with a track record of producing polished, accurate work under pressure.
