About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee and execute complex telecommunications installations in Central Office, Data Center, Substation, and Outside Plant environments
  • Lead a team of technicians and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Install, test, and turn up telecommunications equipment
  • Add and/or remove battery strings
  • Perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits
  • Add and/or remove circuits on working power distribution equipment
  • Install auxiliary framing and relay racks
  • Analyze job drawings and specifications onsite and resolve issues before job start
  • Prepare SMOPs and DMOPs for projects
  • Serve as the point of contact for engineering, material assignment, and other support groups
  • Review work assignments and project steps before each shift and clarify roles and responsibilities
  • Complete job logs according to company standards, including personnel, hours, completed or in-progress work items, and site or project issues
  • Complete DC audits, preventive maintenance, and load testing of DC power systems and standby batteries
  • Add or upgrade software as needed
  • Oversee work assignments, time management, and training and development of assigned personnel
  • Maintain professional conduct, quality, and outstanding customer service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in telecommunications installation
  • Strong technical knowledge of network equipment and protocols
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • High degree of travel required
