About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor and analyze interconnection reform developments and related initiatives across U.S. power markets, including utilities, state regulators, RTOs/ISOs (emphasis PJM, ERCOT, MISO, SPP).
  • Track and participate in prioritized RTO/ISO stakeholder processes, meetings, workshops, and filings related to interconnection and transmission planning.
  • Working with internal teams, develop clear internal positions, recommendations, and responses to proposed interconnection and market reforms.
  • Translate energy reforms and regulatory changes into strategic implications for market strategy, site selection, and project development.
  • Partner with internal technical, development, legal, and commercial SMEs to align policy insights with real-world execution and business planning.
  • Prepare concise briefings, summaries, and decision-support materials for internal leadership.
  • Support Vantage’s external engagement strategy by helping inform positions on reforms and coordinated responses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in energy regulation, economics, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in energy regulation, power markets, or interconnection-related reforms and strategy.
  • Strong current working knowledge of U.S. RTO/ISO structures, interconnection processes, and reform initiatives.
  • Proven experience monitoring RTO meetings, analyzing dockets, and developing positions related to regulatory reforms or written responses.
  • Ability to synthesize complex regulatory and technical material into clear, business-relevant insights.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior stakeholders efficiently.
