About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, hire, coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of privacy professionals
  • Oversee privacy operations including ROPAs, TIAs, PRAs, privacy issues and controls, privacy incidents, and data subject rights requests
  • Ensure privacy activities comply with applicable laws and regulatory expectations
  • Advise on global privacy laws, regulations, incident response, and emerging privacy risks
  • Translate regulatory requirements into actionable and scalable business practices
  • Build and maintain a library of privacy controls
  • Improve privacy program effectiveness, simplify processes, and enhance crew and client experience
  • Report on control environment health and potential privacy risks
  • Lead privacy incident response, including investigation, escalation, remediation, notifications, and lessons learned
  • Develop privacy metrics, executive reporting, and insights for decision-making
  • Communicate risks, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Lead privacy awareness forums and promote protection of crew and client information
  • Collaborate with business, technology, legal, and risk stakeholders to identify and mitigate privacy risks
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience
  • Privacy and regulatory experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • Strong people leadership and team motivation skills
  • Strong learning agility and adaptability to changing priorities and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative, fast-moving environment
  • Strategic thinking and willingness to handle operational tasks
  • Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Passion for protecting client and crew data
  • Must be able to work without visa sponsorship; Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship
