About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the enterprise data governance strategy and operating model
- Define, implement, and continuously enhance enterprise data governance policies, standards, controls, and best practices
- Establish and chair enterprise data governance councils, domain forums, and decision-making bodies
- Design and operationalize a domain-based data ownership and stewardship model
- Define critical data elements, business glossaries, canonical definitions, and data standards
- Establish enterprise data quality standards, metrics, thresholds, and remediation processes
- Oversee metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and traceability capabilities
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Risk, and Technology teams
- Oversee data risk monitoring, issue escalation, control effectiveness, and remediation activities
- Embed governance practices into day-to-day business processes
- Partner with analytics and AI leaders for enterprise data readiness
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or data strategy
- Strong expertise in data governance frameworks, stewardship, metadata, lineage, data quality, and modern/cloud data platforms
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive cross-functional change
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience, Graduate degree preferred
- Understanding of risk governance, 1LoD/2LoD, etc...
