About the role
- Lead and oversee physical security investigations related to external physical security threats, incidents, suspicious activity, and concerning behaviors impacting Vanguard facilities, crew, and operations.
- Apply advanced open‑source investigative techniques and behavioral threat assessment to assess credibility, intent, capability, and proximity of potential risks to corporate operations.
- Produce high‑quality investigative assessments that synthesize open‑source and contextual information into objective, actionable findings.
- Distinguish between noise, concern, and credible risk, providing clear recommendations for mitigation, escalation, or monitoring.
- Partner with site security, corporate security operations, Crew Relations, Legal, Compliance, and external stakeholders (e.g., law enforcement, vendors) as appropriate.
- Ensure investigations are conducted consistently, ethically, and in compliance with legal and privacy requirements across worldwide jurisdictions.
- Oversee employee prescreening and related due diligence programs, ensuring alignment with organizational risk tolerance, regulatory requirements, and internal policy.
- Drive continuous improvement of screening processes, tools, and quality assurance.
- Identify and implement opportunities to modernize investigative methodologies through technology, data analytics, and enhanced OSINT tradecraft.
- Monitor emerging threats, threat vectors, and industry best practices to inform program evolution and strategic planning.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of investigators and analysts, fostering a culture of critical thinking, professionalism, accountability, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in criminal justice, political science, intelligence studies, security management, psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years related work experience, with at least three years experience in physical security, protective intelligence, or investigations in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in open‑source intelligence collection, validation, and analysis.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including team development, coaching, and performance management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience briefing senior leaders on sensitive issues.
