About the role
- Lead & grow a 15–20 person data engineering function: set the bar for engineering excellence; hire, develop, and retain top talent.
- Own delivery outcomes: plan and sequence work across teams; remove impediments; uphold SLAs for data products/pipelines that power AWM Analytics.
- Leverage Generative AI and other technologies to boost engineer productivity and data-product quality (e.g., code assistants, test generation, common frameworks).
- Partner across the enterprise (AWMT Architecture Office, CDAO, PI Tech) to advance data engineering maturity, evolve our tech stack, and align to architecture roadmaps.
- Elevate team culture: create an energizing, mission-oriented environment.
Requirements
- 10+ years in data engineering (or adjacent), including experience leading multi-team technical delivery.
- Demonstrated experience scaling data products/pipelines on a cloud-native stack.
- Strong grounding in DataOps (observability, CI/CD, testing, quality/lineage) and FinOps (cost modeling, governance).
- Executive-ready stakeholder management; ability to translate complex technical trade-offs into business outcomes.
- Domain knowledge in advice, wealth management, and investor data preferred.
