About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate BME graduate programs, including student course registrations, funding confirmations, PeopleSoft entries, I-9 processing, doctoral actions, forms, announcements, student progress tracking, credit card management, expense reports, and student organization requests
  • Support BME graduate student admissions and recruitment, including campus visit travel, recruitment meetings, faculty matching, SLATE offer letters, recruitment swag, vendor reservations, annual events, and travel reimbursements
  • Support BME student engagement by scheduling mentoring meetings, analyzing faculty survey responses, tracking master's student tuition scholarships, coordinating with faculty, and supporting master's program growth
  • Assist the VISE Program Manager with marketing, social media, photography, graphics, captions, short videos, events, workshops, vendors, presentations, listservs, posters, signs, maps, banners, and other marketing materials
  • Support BME department social media on LinkedIn and X (Twitter)
  • Serve as a resource for students and faculty and perform other duties as assigned
  • Report primarily to the BME Graduate Program Manager with a dotted line to the VISE Program Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required
  • At least one year of comparable experience is required
  • A combination of education and experience or experience in lieu of education will be considered
  • Academic environment experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Forms, and PowerPoint, Google Forms, and Adobe Suites
  • Experience with Canva and Trello, or similar software programs, or willingness to learn new software programs
  • Comfort with new technology and ability to adapt to changes in technology and processes
  • Ability to multitask and maintain a high level of organization
  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Resourcefulness, dependability, and action orientation
  • Professional and pleasant attitude with tact and diplomacy when interacting with students, faculty, and staff
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
