About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a technical leader within Desktop Engineering, independently architecting, implementing, and managing the university’s end-user computing infrastructure.
  • Autonomously design, implement, and maintain desktop engineering management infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain advanced device management policies, refining enforcement, automation, and configuration baselines.
  • Diagnose and resolve the most complex end-user device and application issues.
  • Lead support, configuration, and enhancement of AWS Workspaces, AWS AppStream, and Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
  • Coach Desktop Engineers on device management tools, scripting, automation, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree is necessary
  • 5-7 years of related experience is necessary
  • Working knowledge of MECM, GPO, JAMF, AWX, and Intune is necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft, Apple, and Linux operating systems is necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously on complex infrastructure design, configuration, and implementation is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to VUIT’s Guiding Principles is necessary
