About the role
- Building, changing, and maintaining cloud infrastructures in Azure – compute, data, and networking.
- Setting up logging, monitoring, and security.
- Support and teach teams to set up and maintain their pipelines.
- Coach mid and junior colleagues to improve their technical skills.
- Proactively advise teams, clients, and projects on cloud-related improvements in the areas of performance, availability, security, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
- Help project and service managers to budget and plan cloud work, identify project or SLA risks.
- Participate as a cloud engineer in our 24x7 on-call duty rotation.
- Coordinate cloud work in a project with multiple cloud engineers.
- The single point of contact for client, project, and service management on cloud topics for a specific project.
- Make sure that documentation is created and maintained.
- Govern automation at the right level and quality.
- Supervise compliance with security standards and client requirements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a cloud engineer in Azure
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
- Solid knowledge of the serverless services of Azure
- Knowledge and experience with monitoring systems, such as Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, and Tempo
- Knowledge of and experience with various pipelining tools, such as GitHub and Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of and experience with microservices-related technology: Docker and Kubernetes
- Good conceptual understanding of cloud architecture and system thinking
- Worked as an engineer in a DevOps context
- Excellent command of English (C2)
- Familiar with technologies: Container services, AKS, Azure functions, SQL as a service, Cosmos DB, Azure Monitoring (including APM), AppGW, AFD, NSG, Azure Firewall
- Worked within the context of publicly accessible, highly available eCommerce and/or experience platforms
- Experience working in an international context with on- and off-shore teams
- Used to communicate with external clients.
