About the role
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of mortgage servicing and servicer-level responsibilities on behalf of Mortgage Service Rights (MSR) Owners.
- Complete Root Cause Identification, Resolution, and Remediation of account variances.
- Perform reconciliations of investor accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare monthly post-reconciliation analyses to identify trends.
- Review and prepare client billing-related items.
- Ensure compliance with investor guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in cash management processes, including remittance and reconciliation..
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide user feedback to product and engineering teams
- Participate in audits and provide required documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of investor guidelines and mortgage servicing practices.
- Retrieve and assist in ingesting purchase advice and funding details from the investor sites.
- Validate and transfer loans to investor portfolios based on the purchase advice and funding details.
- Validate and resolve differences between the loan onboarding values and the values sold to investors.
- Review and apply funds from servicing transfer wires after reconciliation against onboarding values.
- Review and research requests from flow funding partners that may require additional application of funds or disbursement of funds back to the seller or MSR owner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in investor accounting and/or MSR billing within the mortgage servicing industry.
- Hands-on experience with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and Ginnie Mae loan portfolios.
- Proficiency in using investor reporting platforms and mortgage servicing systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across teams.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Finance or accounting degree or 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
- Must be available to collaborate and communicate in held in-person and virtual meetings
- Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent required
