About the role
- Cover the latest in Linux news, distro reviews, command-line tutorials, open-source projects, and everything in between
- Write tutorials, reviews, guides, and longform features on Linux and open-source software
- Track custom ROMs and mods and keep the community informed on emerging technologies
- Contribute reliably and consistently (feed and feature) under tight deadlines
- Pitch story ideas and coordinate with the editorial team for assignments and feedback
- Input work into the in-house CMS and find/format images according to guidelines
- Stay up to date on the latest open source software news, products, and updates
Requirements
- CV

- 2-3 tech articles you've written that demonstrate your writing abilities
- Self-starter attitude
- Relevant experience in writing and editing in the English language
- Ability to think analytically; applauding or criticizing aspects of the news source
- Expert knowledge and broad familiarity of open source software such as Linux
- Comfortable with pitching
- Willing to input work into our in-house CMS, as well as find and format images, according to our guidelines
