About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and carry out development projects supporting pressure part manufacturing strategy
- Support production flow through continuous improvement processes, including systematic waste reduction follow-up
- Identify and implement new manufacturing opportunities and capabilities in internal manufacturing and feasible subcontracting
- Facilitate new concepts and manufacturability across the upstream and downstream value chain
- Secure development stability through process descriptions, ways-of-operating improvements, and follow-up models in cooperation with operative teams
- Work closely with production professionals, development experts, and operational stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, LEAN activities, and introduction of new manufacturing capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSc or MSc degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of LEAN principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience in pressure part manufacturing and welding is considered an advantage
- Finnish and English language skills, written and spoken
- Regular travel between Tampere and Lapua is required
- Hands-on approach to development
- Ability to take initiative and turn ideas into practical improvements
- Analytical thinking combined with practical execution
- Motivation to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance
- Alignment with Valmet’s Leadership Principles
