About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and carry out development projects supporting pressure part manufacturing strategy
  • Support production flow through continuous improvement processes, including systematic waste reduction follow-up
  • Identify and implement new manufacturing opportunities and capabilities in internal manufacturing and feasible subcontracting
  • Facilitate new concepts and manufacturability across the upstream and downstream value chain
  • Secure development stability through process descriptions, ways-of-operating improvements, and follow-up models in cooperation with operative teams
  • Work closely with production professionals, development experts, and operational stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, LEAN activities, and introduction of new manufacturing capabilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BSc or MSc degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience in pressure part manufacturing and welding is considered an advantage
  • Finnish and English language skills, written and spoken
  • Regular travel between Tampere and Lapua is required
  • Hands-on approach to development
  • Ability to take initiative and turn ideas into practical improvements
  • Analytical thinking combined with practical execution
  • Motivation to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance
  • Alignment with Valmet’s Leadership Principles
