About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct regular HSE inspections and ensure timely closure of findings and corrective actions.
- Lead/support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
- Advise employees, supervisors, and managers on safe work practices and HSE requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, Maharashtra Factories Rules, environmental regulations, and company standards.
- Support statutory inspections, license renewals, and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain and improve HSE management systems in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Conduct HIRA, JSA, and other risk assessments and ensure effective control measures.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) for new processes, equipment, materials, and layouts.
- Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and awareness programs.
- Ensure contractor safety and compliance for high-risk activities including PTW, LOTO, work at height, hot work, lifting, confined space, and electrical work.
- Maintain emergency response plans and conduct mock drills.
- Support environmental compliance, waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain HSE records, permits, reports, and documentation.
- Prepare monthly HSE performance reports and KPI dashboards for management review.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Industrial, or related discipline).
- Mandatory Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety from a government-approved institute.
- 5–7 years of HSE experience in manufacturing, heavy engineering, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of Factories Act, State Rules, and Environmental Laws.
- Experience in HIRA, JSA, PTW, contractor safety, and emergency preparedness.
- Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 systems.
- NEBOSH IGC/NGC or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
- ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 Internal Auditor certification is desirable.
- Experience with HSE reporting tools, dashboards, and data analysis is highly preferred.
