About the role

  • Own and lead one or more global Talent & Development portfolios (e.g., Leadership, HiPo, Culture, DEI, Wellbeing, Learning Systems, People Analytics, Future Readiness, etc.).
  • Define strategy, roadmap, and success criteria for assigned programs aligned with business and people priorities.
  • Ensure integration of Valmet culture across all owned initiatives.
  • Design, program-manage, and continuously improve global development programs and interventions.
  • Oversee global campaigns, learning journeys, assessments, and development tools within owned scope.
  • Facilitate and coach leaders, teams, and employees in global programs and targeted development sessions.
  • Partner closely with People & Culture (P&C) colleagues, business leaders, and fellow T&D Managers to ensure alignment and impact.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on different programs driven by other parts of T&D team.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Owner (SPOC) for designated business areas, regions, or processes.
  • Define and track impact, ROI, and effectiveness of owned programs using people and learning analytics.
  • Use data and employee listening insights to continuously improve program design and outcomes.
  • Contribute to enterprise-level reporting and decision-making.
  • Own or contribute to governance of learning systems, assessment tools, and development platforms.
  • Lead communication and change enablement for assigned global T&D initiatives.
  • Maintain clear ownership and communication with P&C and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in global Talent & Development, Leadership Development, Organizational Development, or Culture transformation in a complex, international organization.
  • Proven ability to design, lead, and scale enterprise-wide development initiatives across multiple countries, functions, and cultures.
  • Strong facilitation and group process design skills, with the ability to lead impactful workshops, leadership sessions, and development interventions.
  • Experience coaching leaders and teams, supporting leadership growth, team effectiveness, and cultural change.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into capability and development solutions that build future-ready skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with learning ecosystems (e.g., learning platforms, digital learning journeys, assessments, leadership diagnostics, etc.).
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in people analytics, impact measurement, and program effectiveness evaluation.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including managing complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders and vendors.
  • Comfortable working in global and multicultural environments, with the ability to adapt approaches to different regional contexts.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear and engaging messages.
  • Curiosity and passion for continuous learning, innovation in development practices, and building inclusive and diverse leadership capabilities.
