About the role

  • Preparing P&IDs, I/O lists, functional descriptions, logic functions and purchase specifications for components and systems (e.g., motors, electrical panels, fans, burners)
  • Execution of automation engineering activities for sold projects in compliance with technical specifications and applicable standards, with particular attention to budget, deadlines and quality
  • Preparation of required documentation in accordance with internal procedures
  • Active contribution to the development of automation engineering, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Cooperation with suppliers and contractors to ensure that their documentation complies with Valmet standards
  • Planning, execution and supervision of check-out, start-up and optimization processes at customer sites, including occasional service and troubleshooting activities
  • Preparation of follow-up and project closure reports

Requirements

  • Relevant technical degree, such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Automation Technology or a related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the pulp & paper sector
  • Good knowledge of electrical regulations and industrial process control
  • Technical drawing skills
  • Excellent command of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD 2D and ERP systems
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems
  • English language proficiency (written and spoken); Knowledge of Italian will be considered a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Availability for business trips, around 50% of the worked days
  • On-site presence at the Gorizia location is mandatory
