About the role

  • Lead the automation proposal process by utilizing model libraries and evaluating technical alternatives
  • Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, layout drawings, and all supporting materials required for quotations
  • Calculate pricing for the automation content in sales quotations
  • Develop and maintain relevant application and pricing tools to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate closely with sales team members and automation experts across Valmet to leverage internal knowledge and expertise
  • Participate in customer meetings to present and clarify automation-related content in proposals
  • Understand customer needs thoroughly and tailor proposals to deliver maximum value

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in automation engineering, machine technology, process technology, or paper technology
  • Experience in automation, machine or process engineering, or paper technology, and have been involved in implementing automation projects
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive technical specifications, layout drawings, and all supporting materials required for quotations
  • Excellent skills in MS office, particularly Excel, for calculations and analysis
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to manage multiple customer cases simultaneously
  • A structured approach to work, even under tight schedules, without losing sight of important details
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; proficiency in Finnish or other languages is considered an asset
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally globally
