Senior Pricing Analyst

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Pricing Build cost-volume and price-to-win models for competitive federal proposals across all contract types, including IDIQ, FFP, Cost-Plus, T&M, and GSA Schedule vehicles
- Develop labor category structures, staffing matrices, and wrap-rate calculations aligned with Valiant's indirect rate structures
- Translate technical and management approaches into defensible pricing narratives and basis of estimates (BOEs) that evaluators can follow and score
- Review RFPs, RFQs, and solicitations to identify pricing requirements, Representations and Certifications, and compliance obligations before proposal development begins
- Lead proposal pricing kick-off meetings, Green Teams, and own participation in price review gates, and final management reviews to ensure cost volumes are complete, compliant, and competitive
- Coordinate with Capture Management, Business Development, Contracts, Finance, Procurement, HR/Compensation, and technical personnel to gather and validate cost inputs on schedule
- Own the teaming partner pricing intake workflow for each proposal, including issuing pricing RFPs and standardized templates to subcontractors, enforcing partner submission deadlines that protect the prime pricing schedule, reviewing partner submissions for completeness, FAR/DFARS compliance, cost realism, and rate structure alignment, resolving discrepancies directly with partner pricing leads, and integrating validated partner data into the prime cost model and BOEs
- Assist in subcontract solicitations, proposal evaluations, and subcontract approval coordination
- Lead Valiant’s response to prime contractor pricing data calls when teaming as a subcontractor, including interpreting prime instructions and templates, packaging Valiant cost inputs to the prime’s required format, coordinating internal sign-off on rate disclosures and proprietary data sharing, defending Valiant pricing in prime fact-finding and clarification cycles, and meeting prime-imposed submission deadlines
- Support opportunity pipeline tracking in coordination with the Business Development team, and ensure a structured handoff of awarded work to program operations and contracts teams
- Compliance and Analysis Ensure all cost submissions comply with FAR, DFARS, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), corporate policies, and specific requirements in each client solicitation
- Conduct price analyses and cost realism assessments for both prime and subcontract pricing
- Prepare and support Truth-in-Negotiations Act (TINA) submissions and forward pricing rate agreements (FPRA/FPRP) as needed
- Advise internal stakeholders on pricing risk mitigation and winning price strategies
- Assist with internal reviews, DCAA/DCMA audits, and customer fact-finding sessions
- Identify pricing risks and recommend mitigation strategies to the Proposal Manager and Capture Lead
- Financial Analysis and Schedule Management Perform financial analysis and cash flow development to support contract pricing and program health
- Manage the cost proposal schedule to ensure production milestones, management reviews, and risk reviews are completed on time with a compliant, professional product
- Provide support for subcontract solicitations and contract negotiations
- Improvement Improve pricing templates, tools, and checklists to reduce cycle time and error rates on cost volumes
- Document pricing methodologies and maintain a lessons-learned library from post-award debriefs
- Assist Pricing leadership with training, cost proposal review, and policy compliance initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of Valiant's pricing, contracts, and financial operations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 8 or more years of federal government pricing experience, including direct experience preparing price/cost volumes for competitive proposals
- Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and TINA requirements
- Experience with all major contract types: IDIQ, FFP, T&M, Cost-Plus (CPFF, CPAF, CPIF), and GSA schedule vehicles
- Experience developing pricing strategy aligned to win themes, competitive positioning, and customer priorities
- Experience developing basis of estimates (BOEs) with the solution architect team to justify the price and document any assumptions and risks
- Experience applying forward pricing rates and understanding their impact on contract pricing
- Prior experience supporting DCAA audits, DCMA reviews, CPSR Reviews and customer fact-finding sessions
- Familiarity with contract administration activities, including modifications, funding actions, and subcontract management
- Experience identifying and mitigating Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) terms in federal contracts
- Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end teaming partner and subcontractor pricing intake process for competitive federal proposals, including issuing pricing requests and templates, enforcing partner submission deadlines, reviewing partner cost submissions for completeness and FAR/DFARS compliance, reconciling labor categories and rate structures across multiple partners, and integrating validated partner data into the Valiant cost model
- Experience negotiating subcontractor pricing terms, including rates, ceilings, escalation, and labor category mapping, under live proposal timelines
- Experience responding to prime contractor pricing data calls when serving as a subcontractor or teaming partner, including interpreting prime-provided templates and instructions, preparing cost inputs in the prime's required format, coordinating internal approvals on rate disclosures and proprietary data, defending rates and assumptions through prime clarification cycles, and meeting prime-imposed deadlines that precede the solicitation due date
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for pricing model development, including dynamic models, complex formulas, and large data sets
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
