About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contact delinquent members to determine intent to pay and bring resolution to unpaid accounts
- Manage a portfolio of accounts by sorting them based on due date or next contact date
- Identify sources of money to assist members with payment options
- Negotiate immediate payments and/or promises to pay
- Appear as a witness in court on behalf of the Credit Union
- Utilize sales process to effectively influence action on accounts
- Demonstrate effective skip tracing techniques to locate information
- Systematically review delinquent accounts and follow up for maximum repayment
- Promote the credit union by cross-selling services focusing on member needs
- Maintain good member relations while collecting on delinquent balances
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of credit union or banking industry preferred
- Good keyboarding skills with the ability to maneuver in a Windows based environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with members verbally
- Self-motivated and works well in team settings
- Ability to handle stressful or difficult situations in a calm manner
- Experience in handling member requests and inquiries required.
- Experience in a busy public contact position at a credit union or financial institution required
